Amiga 1000 (1985)

A night telephonist at a CB 10 manual exchange with 2,100 subscribers’ multiple jacks. Location and date unknown, but probably mid- to late-1960s. He is at position 2 and there appear to be at least three incoming/B positions. The picture seems to be posed (at ten to five in the morning!) as all his cords are connected in the subs’ multiple … and all have double clears! At least his dialling procedure can’t be faulted: position Dial key operated, cord circuit key held in the ring/dial position and dialling with his GPO pencil.

Seated upon an orange and green stylized lotus across from her bull-riding husband, Lord Shiva, Parvati represents the divine energy between man and woman in Hinduism. Her mudhra, or hand gesture, with her right arm raised to her shoulder and her left arm down at her side, signals benevolence and protection. And as the mother of Ganesha and Saraswati, she is the mother goddess who represents strength and power.
